Hand Paws - General Care

You can use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and mist over the outside and inside to help deodorize and disinfect. Be sure to do this after every use.

Cleaning

Your hand paws should have came with a cleaning bag that will help protect when using a washing machine, which you can toss in with the body suit at the same time.

Detergents

  • On detergents since we will be cleaning with cold water (and usually cleaned along with the body suit), I recommend only using a tablespoon of liquid detergent (or a tiny amount if just washing the hand paws), not powder detergent. if you only have the option of a powder detergent, scoop about half to one tablespoon of powder into a bowl and mix with warm water first before adding to the washer or tub. If you add too much detergent the fur will have a slick to slime like feel to it after it's dried (which can be remedied by re-washing the suit without any detergent added). Only recommendation on the type of detergent to use would be one that's non-scented.

Washing Machine Usage

  • Make sure it is set to cold only and on gentle cycle with spin dry. To protect the paws, place inside a cleaning bag or pouch.

Tub / Sink Washing

  • Use cold to slightly warm water (so it's easier on your hands to work with, but do not use all hot water). Add in a small amount of liquid detergent and mix around with your hands. Now place in the hand paws and use your hands to lightly rub and scrub over the paws. Once you are done drain the soapy water and rinse the paws thoroughly, squeezing out excess water. You can use a towel and roll the paws inside, squeezing out more to help with the drying process.

Hang to Dry

  • Now hang up the paws on a hanger with clips, preferred over a tub or towels to collect the dripping water and place a fan directed towards the paws (do not place directly under it). Allow a few hours to dry off, going in every so often to brush the fur. Make sure the paws are fully dry before storing, you do not want any dampness to the fur.
